1. What exactly is a VIOSO smartprojecting expert?

smartprojecting expert is a system consisting of a camera, a computer and a projector. By combination of those three constituents, it is possible to correct any content such that it adapts the projection screen. The correction of the content is done right before it is projected. Geometric and colour distortions, as they would appear with normal projection, can be reduced dramatically. The correction works pixel accurate. Consequently the quality of the correction depends only on the used hardware components (especially the camera and projector)

2. Which content can be presented with smartprojecting expert?

Any content can be presented – just like a usual video projector. “smartprojecting expert” can display static images (i.e. a presentation) as well as moving images i.e. DVD-films or game console contents.

3. Which projectors are supported?

LCD-, DLP-, LED-, LCOS- and Laser projectors are supported. The projection method is irrelevant for the image correction. However, as a matter of course, it affects the overall quality of the presented content (brightness, contrast, colour rendering etc).

4. Which camera is required?

For calibration of "smartprojecting expert" a video camera is required. In general a webcam is sufficient, but a camcorder with PAL-resolution is recommended. Mini cameras or DV-cameras with a relevant higher resolution can also improve the result of the image correction.

5. Which standards must computers have to use "smartprojecting expert"?

Basically the image correction takes place on the graphics card (GPU) and uses so-called pixelshader. Therefore predominantly a capable "smartprojecting expert"-computer must have a pixelshader compatible graphics card (version 1.3 and above). For the judder free replay of a moving image a graphics card with pixelshader 2.0 is required. The remaining components like processor and RAM are less important, here a processor frequency of 1.6 Ghz and above as well as RAM equipments of not less than 1GB is recommended .

The smartprojecting expert-Software needs Windows Vista, XP, 2000

6. How good is the quality of a smartprojecting expert-projection?

The quality of the projection depends on the capability of the used hardware. Particularly the brightness and the contrast of the projector is decisive for the result of the adjustment. The brighter the projector the higher the contrast proportion, the better the geometry and colour of the surface can be adjusted. In general, same limits apply for a "smartprojecting expert"-system which also apply for a usual projector presentations (i.e. daylight, surface with shading, etc.).

7. Can sources like DVD-player, game console, etc. be used?

Yes.With a TV-card you can present trouble-free contents of DVD-player, game console, tv-programmes, etc. Via a framegrabber-card, you can deliver video streams from external sources like other computers, i.e. to project a result of a CAD drawing.

8. What kind of reductions are there at the image adjustment?

In general all reductions apply which are also apply for a usual video projection. For example it is not possible to project on transparent or reflecting surfaces like glass, mirror or metal. Geometrically complex surfaces which produce shadings can only be corrected by using a second projector. Furthermore: The darker the surface the more difficult is the image adjustment.

9. Where is smartprojecting expert-Software available?

The area-wide distribution of "smartprojecting expert" is currently at development. As we don´t offer a standard solution at present, “smartprojecting expert”-systems are only available by us directly. If you are interested just contact us.

10. What is a "Tiled-Screen-Display"?

A "Tiled-Screen-Display" is a high resolution and at the same time larged-sized display, which is composed of several smaller single displays (i.e. of projectors). Such displays are very upscale and special. Normally they must be installed and maintained by technicians. Especially for the millimeter accurate justification of the single displays a lot of cost must be added. At projection displays frequently a "edge-blending" effect appears or rather colour and brightness differences of the single projectors must be compensated. "smartprojecting expert" Technology allows to realise Tiled-Screen-Display comparatively uncomplicated and favourable.

11. What else is smartprojecting expert-Software able to do?

"smartprojecting expert" is more than "just" image adjustment. With our technology it is possible to realise a multiplicity of further application
