inAVate has taken a closer look at the major technology upgrade underway at the National Museum of Qatar, where VIOSO software is managing projection alignment and blending across one of the world's most ambitious immersive museum installations.
The upgraded system brings together 128 Panasonic PT-RQ25K 4K projectors and more than 170 HIVE media engines across ten galleries. Together, they support the museum's large-scale cinematic storytelling, using projection across complex curved architectural surfaces to bring Qatar's history, culture and future ambitions to life.
VIOSO software manages the alignment and blending across the projection system, while HIVE provides distributed playback, monitoring and control.
